We have converted our retail home store at 223 Main Street into a carefully designed, furnished and decorated showroom and studio. Our downstairs showroom is composed of twelve rooms with distinct styles and will have over fifty seating examples to enable our clients to see, sit in and test an example of the custom chair, sofa, ottoman or barstool that they will be ordering.
Last week, after a seven month, pandemic-created wait, we received 90% of our upholstery order and with only a few upholstery pieces still delayed, our tentative opening date is now late October. In today’s blog post we’re giving you a peek at just a fraction of what you’ll be seeing the next time we open our doors. Take a look at a few examples of the seating from our new vignettes!
FRESH FORMAL – one of our display windows will have a fresh take on traditional design with a pair of these Lillian August tufted wing chairs with nail heads. They’ll join a burled wood chest with a lovely rounded form and a concrete side table with a faux stone finish.
CAMPY COASTAL – our other display window will have an elevated coastal look with a tribal kilim rug, seashell-encrusted chest and a pair of modern wing chairs in sea blue velvet. A seascape canvas, Poseidon bust and this campy ottoman complete the eclectic look.
WOODSY TRADITIONAL – this room is grounded by a colorful, traditional wool rug under furnishings with rounded shapes, including this updated leather chair by Lee Industries. A large cabinet and coffee table in dark oak make the space warm and woodsy.
SANTA FE INSPIRED TRADITIONAL – this room takes on the feel of a Ralph Lauren-inspired space with a Chesterfield sofa and Southwestern style kilim rug. The sherpa-like fabric looks great on this Lee Industries chair, small enough to fit in so many spaces.
FEMININE MODERN – pastel colors and soft shapes give a feminine edge to this room, which also features a modern reverse-painted glass chest and abstract art. This swivel chair by Lee Industries in a lovely linen sports a double band of contrasting fabric at the hem.
COASTAL TRANSITIONAL – this room has an unexpected green and cream color scheme inspired by a large seascape canvas and jute rug. Understated transitional furniture shapes let this accent chair with hair on hide and black tacks by Lee Industries take center stage.
ECLECTIC OFFICE – this room was inspired by a large Renaissance-inspired canvas which hangs over a gorgeous credenza. This Lee Industries guest chair, with floral fabric and contrast band with nail heads, is stylish enough to fit right in with this over-the-top space.
INDUSTRIAL DINING – this room has an interesting mix of heavy metal and light, fresh color. This Lee Industries host chair in a sweet floral is joined by side chairs with platinum nail heads. All look great with the silver-toned steel table and pendant lighting.
ASIAN INSPIRED MID-CENTURY – this room will have a streamlined sectional sofa by Lee Industries. Large scale art, accessories and lighting are all inspired by Asian design. This ottoman and matching chair by Currey & Co. will complete the seating in this space.
MODERN MASCULINE – this room features large, comfortable seating with modern shapes and masculine fabrics. This Lee Industries chair is deep, comfy and mixes well with other styles. Vintage art and concrete lamps add an industrial feel to this space.
PRETTY PATIO – this room has an outdoor furniture by Lee Industries with frames made from sustainable birch plywood, built in sloping drains, reticulated foam, and stainless steel staples and galvanized screws. Finally you can bring the comforts of indoor living outdoors!
URBAN LOFT – this room sports a leather swivel recliner (named the “Relaxor”) by Lee Industries along with a small scale sofa and ottoman. The antique brass coffee table and chandelier, along with art, add a surprising, lighthearted look at an urban-inspired space.
